- Newnes Campground
Newnes campground is located near Sydney and it takes about 4 hours to reach the main camping region from the city. The main campground is located near vast mountains and scenery and is also home to the industrial ruins. So if you want to get the best of both worlds by exploring both nature and a bit of history then we suggest that you go here as soon as possible. Unlike most campgrounds, the Newnes one does not allow bookings and this can thus be a major issue if you arrive late. The campgrounds also don’t have a store or anything for firewood and other camping accessories. So if you wish to set up a fire, make sure to bring your own firewood and stock some for later as well. The campgrounds don’t have any sort of rules as such, but if you wish to have a campfire, then use a fireplace that was previously used by another camper. This is encouraged so that people don’t make new fire spots each time that they go camping.
