Fulfilling a cultural need

Now I'm utterly biased in putting this comment forward, but certainly when I first researched the possibility of a site like Campfire, there was nothing around quite like it. There was the Damah festival in the US, but I felt that in Australia we had a different take on the world and it's faiths and values.
As Australians, I reckon we can be pretty honest & direct about anything.
AND we produce some of the best (and biggest quantity) of short films in the world.
So why can't we bring these two traits together? It looks like Campfire will be able to do this to great effect - fulfilling a cultural need in our culture that sometimes seems a little paranoid about "others".

I think we're a pretty tolerant lot. Not sure that discussing religion is going solve the world's problems. But the site is at least a bit entertaining.

Australian content

Richard,

It will be good to see some Australian content here as this website develops.

Keep up the good work here.
This is an interesting website with lots of potential.

Australian & world

Thanks for the encouragement Dean.
While many films will be Australian, we also want to encourage filmmakers from around the world to contribute. Stay tuned!
